•Must go to DHS First as they will ask for a referral.

•This program assists with a variety of homeless services ranging from assistance with food, intensive case management, and assistance with first month’s rent if eligible.

•They also offer money management, energy smart, and life skills workshops every month.

•We can provide a referral for you and fax it to them to assist in making the process go a little quicker.

•Rental Assistance: Once in a 12 month period, as funds are available. You will need to have some type of income.

•Emergency Services—Helps with rent, utilities, commodities. Must have DHS referral.

•Expanded Homeless Program—Case management program that helps the homeless secure housing.  Caseworker services continue 6 months after obtaining housing. Help with security deposit and first month’s rent, plus additional casework services. Must have DHS (Dept. of Human Services) referral. Contact Marina Proshin for more information.

•Must show: DHS decision letter, court summons to appear or court decision notice, eviction notice, proof of income, picture ID, if homeless, a verification letter (from a shelter)

•Commodity Supplemental Food Program—Commodity foods for low-income individuals and families, food for low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breast-feeding women, infants and children under age 6 and NOT on the WIC program. Also seniors 60 years and older. Must provide proof of income, residency and social security number of everyone in the household.

•New Hope Day Center: weekday safe environment open 6am-6pm Monday-Friday. Can take advantage of housing resources, clothing couches, life skills training, substance abuse education, counseling, health services. There is an activity area for young children to play, read and do homework. Extension 106

•Veterans Dormitory Program (VDP): 16 bed program available to male and female veterans. Residents can stay for up to 6 months. Free program. Extension 113
